Does Canada Need A Marine Species At Risk Act?  Canada’s primary conservation law for species at risk of extinction is the Species at Risk Act. The conservation community is well aware that marine fish are rarely listed – and as a result, severely depleted fish stocks aren’t getting the protection they need for recovery. But is SARA the right tool for the job, or do we need something designed specifically for the needs of marine fish?

Dr. Brett Favaro of the Marine Institute, Memorial University of Newfoundland shared his thoughts on these questions at the ACAP Humber Arm Coastal Matters session.
