At approximately 9:30 pm Patrol Services responded to a call of a disturbance outside a private residence on Woodbine Avenue. The report from the public indicated two males were into a fight and were in possession of weapons, thought to be metal pipes. While enroute to the scene police were advised that one of the persons involved had left the area in a vehicle. A description of this vehicle was provided to police and was stopped by a responding police unit. As a result of the investigation into this incident a 24 yr old male was arrested for Assault With a Weapon, Common Assault, Uttering Threats, and Resisting Arrest. The victims of the assaults/threats were a 20 yr old male and a 50 yr old female, both residents of Corner Brook. Both received minor injury during this incident. The accused and victims are known to each other and it appears there was an ongoing dispute between them. There is no public safety concern as this was not a random attack. The accused is being held in police custody for a court appearance in the morning.
