Health Care Town Hall
Most health research occurs without any input from patients, with no regard to the impact it might have on patient experiences, and without anybody ever hearing about the results.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Support for People and Patient-Oriented Research and Trials Unit (NL SUPPORT), is planning a “Go West” trip the week 9-13 May to carry out a series of Town halls across the western end of the island to discuss with the public what they believe the priorities for health research should be. Patient-oriented research is research that has a direct impact on patient health, takes into account patient experiences, and incorporates patients in the research itself.
The event will be held at Grenfell Campus in Corner Brook (May 12, 3-5, 7-9) (Arts and Sciences Bldg, AS2016). This is a public event where we invite users of the healthcare system (which is pretty well everybody, really) to come participate in dialogue to answer a number of questions after a brief presentation.
