National Arts Centre’s Tartuffe will cross the province from September 28 – October 14, 2017. Tartuffe is very loosely adapted and even more loosely translated by Andy Jones, from the play by the same name by Molière, and stars Robert Joy and Greg Malone.

The play is re-imagined for pre-confederate Newfoundland, with sharp wit and biting satire courtesy of Andy Jones. It is two hours of insanely brilliant showmanship that is witty, cutting and fierce – a blazingly funny exploration of religious hypocrisy given a salty and distinctive Newfoundland flavor.

The production played to sold out audiences in Ottawa at the National Arts Centre in 2013, and prior to that played at Perchance Theatre in Cupids, NL in its very first production of this adaptation.
