JibFest Weekend Keeps RNC Busy

rnc logoThe Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook  received 40 calls for service for the 24 hour period ending on February 14, 2015 at 4 a.m.

Noteworthy calls for service:

  • As a result of the increased police patrols  within Corner Brook because of the increase in volume of visitors during Jib fest 2015 weekend, the RNC-RCMP Street Level Drug Team made 7 drug related arrests in the Broadway area between 8 pm on February 13, 2015 and 4 am of February 14, 2015. These incidents remain under investigation by the Drug Team.
  • RNC Patrol Services responded to 8 two vehicle collisions during this period. The vehicles involved sustained moderate damages and no injuries were reported.
  • RNC Patrol Services responded to a three vehicle collision during this period. All vehicles involved sustained moderate damages. No injuries were reported.
  • RNC Patrol Services responded to a harassing telephone complaint of a resident on Webster Place. Matter remains under investigation.
  • RNC Patrol Services received a threats complaint from a resident on West Valley Road. Matter under investigation.
  • RNC Patrol Services received a complaint of theft from a business in Murphy Square. Matter remains under investigation.
  • RNC Patrol Services received a complaint of Break and Enter into a residence on Centennial Place. Matter remains under investigation.
  • RNC Patrol Services received a complaint of threats towards property from a resident on Citadel Drive. Matter under investigation.
  • On February 13, 2015 at 10:30 p.m. RNC Patrol Services conducted a roadside check on the Trans-Canada Highway between Corner Brook and Steady Brook. As a result, a 34 year male resident of Stephenville, NL  was issued a 7 day suspension for having a Blood-Alcohol in excess of 50 mg%.
