More Trees to be Removed in Downtown Storm Sewer Upgrades

Written by on May 15, 2015

untitledThe City of Corner Brook is replacing a section of the Majestic Brook storm sewer which flows from West Street to the storm system that runs parallel to Park Street, near the Glynmill Inn. This work is scheduled to start the week of May 18th, 2015.

In order to complete this work, several trees have to be removed. The trees identified for removal are shown on the attached drawing.

As per City Policy, “where appropriate and practical each tree removed from City owned and/or administered property, will be replaced by a new tree in accordance with the Tree Planting Policy. If it is deemed impractical to place a tree at the location of the felling, then an alternate location will be selected as close to the original location as possible or in a proximal public park or open space.”
