RNC Arrest Male in Alleged Assault Investigation September 23, 2014

rnc logo(CORNER BROOK, NL) – September 23, 2014 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region has arrested and charged a 40 year old male in relation to an assault which occurred in the early hours of Monday morning.

On Monday, September 22, 2014 at approximately 1:30 a.m. RNC officers from Patrol Services responded to a report of an assault at Hotel Corner Brook on Main Street. A 36 year old female was treated at the scene by Western Health Paramedics for injuries to her face and upper torso area as a result of the incident.

Today, RNC officers with the Criminal Investigation Division arrested a 40 year old Corner Brook male without incident. He has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and failing to comply with the conditions of a court order. The accused was held in custody at the Corner Brook Detention Center and is expected to appear in Provincial Court later today.
