rncmrThe Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook received 36 calls for service for the 24 hour period ending on December 5, 2014 at 4 a.m.

On December 4, 2014 at approximately 3:20 p.m. RNC Patrol Services responded to a complaint of theft at a business in Murphy Square. It was reported that staff observed a male stealing merchandise from the business. The male, a 19 year old male resident of Corner Brook, was arrested and charged with Theft under $5000. He was released to attend court at a later date.

On December 5, 2014 at approximately 10:30 p.m. RNC Patrol Services members attended a residence in the West Avenue area to assist paramedics with what was believed to be a medical call for service. Upon attending the residence, it was determined the request for medical assistance was unfounded. Subsequent to this call, the person of interest was found to be in breach of various court orders and was arrested without incident for these offences. The male, a 35 year old resident from Corner Brook, was charged with two counts of Breach of Undertaking , one count of Breach of Probation and one count of Breach of a Recognizance(Peace Bond). He was conveyed to the Corner Brook Lockup without incident and will appear in court on December 5.

Note : The RNC in Corner Brook would like to remind motorists to refrain from parking on the streets as the overnight snow clearing parking ban is now in effect. It is illegal to park a vehicle on a road between 12 a.m. – 8 a.m. daily under the Snow Clearing Regulations of the Highway Traffic Act.
