Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Patrol Services in Corner Brook received 32 calls for service during the 24 hour period ending at 4:00 am today.
On October 6, 2014 at approximately 12:35 p.m. RNC Patrol Services received a complaint of theft at a business in the area of Murphy Square. It was reported that a cell phone was stolen. Investigation is continuing.
On October 6, 2014 at approximately 3:30 p.m. RNC Patrol Services conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Commercial Street. Upon investigation, it was determined that a registration sticker was falsely attached to the license plate of the vehicle involved. As a result of the investigation, the 35 year old male driver, a resident of Corner Brook, NL was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Operating a Vehicle with a registration sticker other than issued, Operating a Vehicle without a Valid Insurance Policy in Effect, Operating an Unregistered Vehicle and Failing to Notify Registrar Transfer of Ownership. The investigation has determined that the attached registration sticker has stolen from another license plate within Corner Brook, as a result, an investigation of possession of stolen property is ongoing. The vehicle involved was seized and impounded by police.
