RNC in Corner Brook Charge Female with Aggravated Assault

(CORNER BROOK, NL) – October 7, 2014 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
(RNC) Corner Brook Region have arrested and charged a 49 year old female with
assault offences in relation to an incident that occurred in the Curling area.
On Monday, October 6, 2014 at approximately 3:30 a.m. RNC officers from Patrol
Services received a report indicating a 43 year old male had been assaulted and
sustained injuries believed to be non-life threatening. The male attended Western
Memorial Regional Hospital on his own accord where he was treated and released.
Officers with the RNC Criminal Investigation Division continued the investigation
throughout the day and into the early morning hours. This morning at approximately 1:30
a.m. a 49 year old female resident of Corner Brook was arrested and charged with
aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. The accused was held in custody at the
Corner Brook Detention Centre and will appear in Provincial Court later today. Both the
victim and the accused are known to one another.
