RNC in Corner Brook Investigating Single Vehicle Collision

(CORNER BROOK, NL) – October 20, 2014 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
(RNC) Corner Brook Region are investigating a single vehicle collision which occurred
on the North Shore of the Bay of Islands.
This morning at approximately 11:30 a.m. RNC officers from Patrol Services, with
assistance from the Corner Brook Fire Department, Western Health Paramedics and
Reliable Ambulance, responded to a single vehicle collision along Route 440 in an area
known as Wild Cove. The pickup truck was westbound when it left the roadway and
overturned. Two occupants of the vehicle, a male and female, were conveyed to
Western Memorial Regional Hospital for what is described as non-life threatening
injuries.
Weather and road conditions are believed to have contributed to the cause of this
incident as investigators noted a substantial accumulation of water on the roadway due
to recent rainfall. The RNC wishes to remind motorists to please adjust their driving
habits in accordance with environmental conditions.
