The Off-Broadway Players, Corner Brook’s community theatre troupe, brings the blockbuster rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar to the Corner Brook Arts and Culture stage Nov. 19-21.

This celebrated musical, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, centres on the final days of the life of Jesus Christ, as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. It is well known for such songs as “Heaven on their Minds,” “What’s the Buzz,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” and “Gethsemane.”

Directed by Steve Perchard, with music direction by Darlene Steeves and choreography by Amy Andrews, the show features a full orchestra complete with strings and wind instruments and a cast and crew of more than 50.

The Corner Brook Royals will be facing off against the Clarenville Caribous on Saturday night. The game will not start until 8pm due to the heavy traffic and congestion expected in the area throughout the day
