Written by Administrator on May 20, 2016
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region is investigating a commercial break, enter and theft.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., on Friday May 20, 2016 RNC Patrol Services responded to a complaint of a commercial break and enter at a business on Humber Road. It was reported that entry was gained into the business sometime overnight.
A 9 foot long, 70 pound, red tailed boa constrictor was reported stolen as well as an undisclosed amount of cash and other property.
The RNC does not believe that this animal has been released into the wild, but at this stage of the investigation this cannot be confirmed. As a precautionary measure, members of the general public are asked to use caution and to not approach this animal if they encounter it, and to contact the RNC immediately if they have any information in relation to the animal’s location.
Red tailed boa constrictors are nocturnal, cold blooded animals who will seek shelter in a warm location.
The RNC is continuing its investigation into this matter. Anyone with information is asked to contact the RNC at 637-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
