RNC Arrest Corner Brook Man in Relation to Overnight Altercation

rncThe Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region has arrested and charged a 24 year old male in relation to an altercation outside a residence in the city.

On April 16, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m. RNC Patrol Services responded to a complaint of a disturbance on Woodbine Avenue in the Curling area. It was reported two males were involved in a physical altercation with one of the males brandishing a metal pipe. The victims, a 20 year old male and a 50 year old female, sustained what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries to their face, arms and bodies.

The accused, a 24 year old male resident of Corner Brook, was located in his vehicle nearby and became aggressive toward police. He was arrested and conveyed to the Corner Brook Detention Centre where he remained in custody overnight. The accused is charged with assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats and resisting arrest. He will appear in Provincial Court later today.
