rncmediareeaseThe Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook received 27 calls for service for the 24 hour period ending on October 26, 2014 at 5 a.m.

On October 26, 2014 at approximately 4:30 a.m. RNC Patrol Services responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at a residence on Joyce Place. Upon investigation it was determined that a female had left the residence while under the influence of alcohol and driving a motor vehicle. At 4:50 a.m. RNC Patrol Services located the female driving on Curling Street while under the influence of alcohol. She was conveyed to the RNC Detachment to provide a breath sample. As a result of the investigation, the female, a 26 year old female resident of Corner Brook was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Driving While Exceeding the Legal Limit. The female was a beginner driver and her driver’s licence permit was immediately suspended and she was charged under the Highway Traffic Drivers Regulations for Driving a Vehicle without an Accompanying Driver and Driving a Motor Vehicle between 12 am – 5 am. She was later released and will appear in Provincial Court in December.

 On October 25, 2014 at 11:50 p.m.  RNC Patrol Services responded to a complaint of an assault in a residence on Burton’s Road. It was reported that a 16 year old female had assaulted an adult within the residence. This same 16 year old was currently under investigation for assault that occurred on October 9, 2014. As a result, the female youth was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault and two counts of breach of probation. She remains in custody and will appear in WASH Court today. Both victims involved in the October 9, 2014 incident and the October 25, 2014 incident were not injured.
