RNC Make Arrest in Relation to Break and Enter

car Capt CookThe Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Corner Brook Region has arrested a 40 year old male in relation to a residential break and entry and assault which occurred on the east side of the city.

On Monday, July 13, 2015 at approximately 9:50 p.m. RNC Patrol Services responded to a complaint of a break and enter and assault at a residence on Humber Road in Corner Brook. It is believed the accused entered the home and assaulted the homeowner with a metal object. The victim, a 44 year old male, sustained what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Western Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment and later released.

As a result of the investigation a 40 year old male was arrested this morning atapproximately 1:45 a.m. Both the accused and the victim are known to one another andthe RNC do not believe there are any public safety concerns at this time. The accusedremains in custody at the Corner Brook Detention Center and is scheduled to make an appearance in Provincial Court this afternoon.
