The City of Corner Brook wishes to advise residents and businesses that a water outage,
precautionary boil water advisory and road closure has been scheduled for Wednesday,
August 5, 2015 commencing at 10:00 p.m. The outage and road closure is expected to last for
approximately 10 to 12 hours. This is necessary to make Capital Works Improvements to the
water distribution system.
Areas to be affected are as follows:
– Georgetown Road #’s 5 to 161
– Petries Street including all side roads
– Candow Drive including all side roads
– Killick Place #”s 5, 6, 8 and 10
– Curling Street #’s 509 and 511
– O’Connell Drive #’s 678 and 679
– Town of Mt. Moriah
In conjunction with the repairs, O’Connell Drive will be closed to through traffic from the
intersection of Allan’s Road to the intersection of Petries Street. The general motoring
public is advised to use alternate routes.
Due to the time required for testing to confirm water quality in the systems, the boil water
advisory is expected to remain in effect until further notice. You will be advised when the boil
water advisory has been lifted.
