Saturday, March 28

Western Sno-Riders Race on the Rock – 11:00am at Marble Mountain

t’s a fun filled day with some of the biggest and fastest sleds from all over Atlantic Canada racing in a number of uphill drag races for the ultimate title: “King of the Hill.” Don’t miss out on all the fun! Admission is $5 at the gate, and children 12 and under get in for free!

“Puttin’ on the Ritz” – 8:00pm at the Rotary Arts Centre

Bay of Islands Musical Arts presents “Puttin’ on the Ritz”, a cabaret-style cornucopia of music! Featuring: Montreal’s Marc-Antoine D’Aragon, Wendy Woodland, Louis MacDonald, Ian Locke, and Members of the BIMA Chorus and Children’s Chorus. Featuring a meet the artists after-show and flapper raffles. Tickets $50, includes champagne and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are limited, you can get yours at the RAC box office!

BMD Roast Moose/Turkey Dinner – 7:00pm at the Blow Me Down Ski Club (Lundrigan Drive)

Blow Me Down Ski Club is holding their annual Roast Moose/Turkey dinner with silent auction on Saturday, March 28. Doors open at 6:30pm, dinner served 7-8pm. Great items for auction and door prizes. Tickets are $20.

Spring Tea & Sale – 2:30pm at Oakland United Church (Forestside Road)

Romeo and Juliet – 8:00pm at the Grenfell Fine Arts Theatre

Grenfell’s fourth-year theatre students will bring Romeo and Juliet to the Fine Arts stage. The production was rehearsed at Memorial’s Harlow Campus in England, where the theatre program brings its fourth years every January for a seven-week period. The show features the work of the acting and stagecraft students of the graduating class of 2015. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors and are available at the box office in the Fine Arts atrium 7-8 p.m. on show nights.

Earth Hour – 8:30 to 9:30pm

On Saturday, March 28, 2015 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., the world will turn off its lights again for Earth Hour – an international lights out initiative led by WWF (World Wildlife Fund) – to send a unified message about the need for action on climate change.

The City of Corner Brook is commited to turning off non essential/emergency lights. We are encouraging residents to particpate in Earth Hour 2015 and do that same. Shut down computers and turn off your lights for one hour on March 28th, 2015 and make a real difference!


Sunday, March 29

Music Fest & Silent Auction Fundraiser – 1:00pm at Bennett Hall (West Street)

Fundraiser for Elaine & Terry Gardner who have to travel to St.Johns for medical treatments. Live performances by Daniel Payne, Anthony Basha, Al Park, Pit Crew, Lloyd Gardner along with many performing artists. Soup, chili, sandwiches,sweets, tea, and coffee for sale as well.
